Karens Whois
Double click the "ptwhois-setup.exe" file and you will see the screen below. Click "Next".
On this screen you can read the End User License Agreement (EULA) and if you agree click "I Agree" at the bottom.
On the screen below you can choose either setting you prefer then click "Next".
On the screen below you can see where Karens Whois will be installed. If you want to install it elsewhere you can by clicking the "Browse" button and pick where you want to install the program, then click "Next".
On the screen below you can use the default "start menu" folder or you can create a new "start menu" folder. I recommend the "default" folder. After you have chosen then click "install".
When the install is complete you will see the screen below. Your choice if you want to run Karens Whois immediately by checking the box, or click "Finish".
How to use Karens Whois

You check your firewall 'trafic' log and you see that something has been blocked, incoming or out going, as shown below.
Notice on the left that the incoming traffic has been blocked. (arrow and red "x").
Start Karens Whois and you see the screen below.
#1. Type in the "ip" address here.
#2. You can pick from 6 servers to lookup who is being blocked. If you dont get an answer the first time, you can chose from any of the remaining servers.
#3. This is where the info will be displayed. Scroll down and look at all the info you have for that particulr site. Be careful about emailing the offending "ip" address. You may be giving out your email address to someone you dont want to have it!
Use this info to setup a block for this address, if you chose.
When done click "Exit".
Shown in the screenshot below is the Domain Name function in Karens Whois.
#1. Click on the Domain Name tab.
#2. Type in a Domain Name as i have done.
#3. You can use anyone of several servers for the search, then click the 'Lookup info' button.
#4. Your information will be displayed here.
When done click 'Exit'.
