PwrDefrag Setup
After you have unzipped/installed pwrdefrag, look in the folder on your hard drive and right click the pwrdefrag icon then click on "create shortcut". Drag and drop the new icon onto your desktop. See screenshot below.
At this point double click your desktop icon and you will see the screen below. Click "Next".
On the screen below, click on "PowerMode[TM] Disk Defragmentation" and then click "Next" if you want to defrag the entire drive.
On this screen make sure the drive you want to defrag is chosen, then click "Defragment".
At this time your defrag screen will come up and you can maximise the screen or leave it as it is.
If you have been using a particular program or file and want to defrag just that program or file,
you can choose it by putting a tick in the circle next to "folder" or "file" , i picked "file", then click next and you will see the next screen shown below.
#1. This is the "file" i picked to defrag.
#2. Click on the box and choose the "folder" or "file" you want to defrag.
#3. This is where you can check to make sure you have the correct "file" or "folder" chosen.
Then click "Defragment" and power defrag will defrag that "file" or 'folder" only.
This is the screen you will see next. I have maximized it.
This is the screen you will see when Power Defrag is almost done.
After defrag is done you will see the screen below. Click "OK".
(NOTE: When it looks like the defrag is done, IT ISNT! Wait for the the screen below to pop up!)
Next you will see the screen below. Click on "Quit" then "Yes" and your back to your desktop again and defrag is complete.
Note: the first time through it may take a long time. ive seen it take an hour or more. the next time it will take much less time, maybe 10 to 20 minutes or less, depending on how large a hard drive you have.
